Ocean City, MD
October 4-5-6-7, 2012 in Ocean City Maryland
What a great weekend! The 15th Annual Endless Summer Cruisin featured 2,500 rods, customs, classics, trick trucks and more cruising the streets of Ocean City Maryland, October 4-5-6-7, 2012. While the main event took place at the oceanfront Inlet parking lot there were many various satellite car shows taking place throughout the city, including the Ocean City Convention Center, Hooters Restaurant, the town of Berlin, Gold Coast Mall, Phillips Seafood House, Crab Alley and others. There was lots of entertainment, games, parades and much more throughout the four days.
One of the highlights of Endless Summer Cruisin is always the boardwalk parades. Parades took place Thursday, Friday and Saturday where hundreds of beautiful cars got the opportunity to cruise down the beachfront boardwalk. It really was a site to see.
Some of the top national names in the country were on display at Manufacturer Midway located at the Inlet including AAA Mid-Atlantic, Bimbo's Extreme Polishes, Flowmaster, Maryland Lottery, Miller Electric, Optima Batteries, Royal Purple, Slide-Lok, Summit Racing and more!
Special guest this year was Butch Patrick, best known for his role as Eddie Munster on "The Munsters." Butch was at the event signing autographs and posing for pictures. We were even able to get Butch on stage to play some Munster trivia games and to raffle off a banner to go to charity. Joining him at the event were the Munster Koach, Drag-u-la and Eddie's go cart show cars.
In addition to Endless Summer Cruisin, there was also the 32nd Annual Indoor Hot Rod & Custom Car Show being held in conjunction with Endless Summer at the OC Convention Center Friday and Saturday. Inside the Convention Center some of the hottest show cars were on display, competing for trophies and cash, along with a Vendor Showcase.
Entertainment this year included Sir Rod's tribute to Rod Stewart on Friday and The Golden Touch Band on Saturday. Both acts performed inside the Convention Center and had the whole place rockin.
Awards were given out each day at the 1pm and 4:30pm awards presentations with the grand finale awards being held on Sunday afternoon. Despite the rain on Sunday there were many cars and people who came out for the awards ceremony, plus the fun give-aways before hand. Lots of travel bags, coffee mugs, MD lottery tickets, coolers and more were given-out, plus close to $2,000 was hidden in the trick-or-treat door prize pumpkins. At the end of the event over 300 trophies were given out!
A special thanks goes out to many outstanding people and organizations who made Endless Summer possible, including the wonderful participants and spectators, Mayor and City Council, Department of Public Works, Police Department, Hotel Motel Restaurant Association, Chamber of Commerce, Visitor's Center, National Street Rod Association, Car Clubs throughout the Mid-Atlantic along with the Ocean City Business Community. We can't thank you enough for helping to make Endless Summer Cruisin one of the largest and most unique automotive events in the country. Hope to see everyone back next year!
