14th Annual ![]() Ocean City, MD With four days of sunshine and beautiful weather we couldn't have picked a better weekend for Endless Summer Cruisin 2011. Over 2,000 Rods, Customs, Classics and Trick Trucks cruised into Ocean City for a fun filled weekend. The main event took place at the oceanfront inlet with various satellite locations throughout town including the Ocean City Convention Center, Hooters Restaurant, the town of Berlin, Gold Coast Mall, Phillips Seafood House and Halls Restaurant. There was plenty of entertainment, games, parades and so much more throughout the four day event. New this year, as part of the Endless Summer Cruisin, there was Endless Summer Indoors at the OC Convention Center Friday and Saturday. Inside the Convention Center some of the hottest show cars were on display along with a Vendor Showcase. There was also a Collector Car Auction where spectators could watch the excitement build between the sellers and the buyers or they could even join in on the action in hopes of purchasing a new car to cruise in. Special guest this year was Paul Michael Glaser, best known for his role as detective David Starsky from Starsky and Hutch. In addition to being an actor and director he most recently wrote a children's book Chrystallia and the Source of Light. Paul was available for meet and greets as well as photo opportunities and book signings. Paul even joined us up on stage to autograph a banner that was auctioned off for charity. Some of the top national names in the country were on display at Manufacturer Midway located at the Inlet including AAA Mid-Atlantic, Bimbo's Extreme Polishes, General Motors Performance Division, Maryland Lottery, Miller Electric, Slide-Lok, Spectre Performance, Summit Racing and more! Lots of awards were given out each day at the 4:30 Awards ceremony with the grand finale awards ceremony being held on Sunday afternoon. Prior to the awards lots of door prizes were given away and fun games were played where participants won lots of cash, lottery tickets, travel bags, coffee mugs, fuzzy dice and more. There were more than 200 awards presented from various sponsors and supporters of the event. Winners will be posted on the website shortly. A special moment at the Sunday Awards was when Maryland State Senator Jim Mathias took the stage. Senator Mathias presented his award to Ann Marie Auld and her pink 56 Ford Thunderbird, in memory of his late wife Kathy Mathias who lost her struggle with breast cancer this past summer. He reminded the crowd that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encouraged everyone to remind those you love to get checked! The Sunday Awards topped off a great four days of fun in the sun! A special thanks goes out to many outstanding people and organizations including the wonderful participants and spectators, Mayor and City Council, Department of Public Works, Police Department, Hotel Motel Restaurant Association, Chamber of Commerce, Visitor's Center, National Street Rod Association, Car Clubs throughout the Mid-Atlantic along with the Ocean City Business Community for making Endless Summer Cruisin one of the largest and most unique automotive events in the country.
